Ben Long has designed and installed Words Scaffolding Sculpture as a window display for Selfridges' flagship London store. The window is one of four themed commissions specially curated by the team at It's Nice That for the Words Words Words campaign featuring the work of Chrissie Macdonald and Giles Miller.

Long has used conventional scaffolding components to make the uppercase 'WORDS', equating the modular building system with the construction of written language and typographic design. The sculpture is the latest in a succession of evolving scaffolding artworks that Long has been producing since 2004.

Words Scaffolding Sculpture can be viewed from Orchard Street and from the Concept Store situated on the ground floor of Selfridges until March 2012. The project has been made possible with additional support from D+R Scaffolding Group.
